That part number shows as being for 8/20/98 - 12/7/98 production dates, with dual alternator. It shows as being discontinued.

Here's a picture of the one I have. It's got all the same stuff my e99 has except it also has this aluminum contraption with two connectors to it (I don't recall seeing this under my hood). You can see the feed wire that I cut and I have the rest of that so it can be spliced back together. I was not able to get the 42 pin connector apart tucked back under the hood so I cut it off but I cut it on the right side of the connector to save the harness. The connector did suffer a chip but it should still work. If you want it PM me. I'll let you have it for a lot less than $300-$500. I am not finding a part number on the harness.

Mark

That's a glow plug control module found on 99.5+ CA emissions trucks and all Excursions with the 7.3. I know there are some differences specific to E series, but I'd have to dig through wiring diagrams to figure out exactly what they are, and if they'd be relevant to that harness.

As Pik-Man stated, that's a GPCM.

As for you guys working out a deal for your harness, unless you're gonna give it to him for the cost of shipping, please take it to PM's. Selling in the tech forums isn't allowed.

Thanks.

Stewart

Main engine harness

I know its been a while since this repair has been done. but do you still happen to have the contact info for the guy that got you the harness. i have a 2000 superduty and a rat chewed through the harness and no one can find me one and my parts guy from ford said that they dont show anyone in the country to have a harness

Ironic that this would come up now. I got that harness out of a salvage vehicle that I bought and it turned out to be unusable. I just sent its remnants to a guy who's doing some kind of research on it.

Looks like Tasca Ford has the 49 state, non-GPCM PN F81Z12B637FA mentioned above in stock for $565. Engine Wiring Harness

Also try the local Navistar or International Harvester dealership for their PN 1837761C91. Ya never know.

There are a few of them on FleaBay from sellers with good reputations.

Sorry if someone already answered this, everywhere i search for the PN F81Z12B637FA says it is only compatible with the 2002 and 2003 7.3 super duties. Can anyone confirm that this will work with my 2001 F250 Super Duty?
I'm having the same issue with the insulation falling apart on the main wiring section.
Thanks!

I can't tell you whether or not you can make it work but I can verify that they are not the same. At the minimum the '99-'01 models have a fender mounted starter relay that the later models don't have.

Thanks for the reply. I'm checking with a company who can cross check the part. Apparently there is a tag on the current harness I can check. I'll let you know what I find out.
