Header Problems
I have a 93 f150 4x4, 302 with an AOD. I am in the process of putting on a pair of hedman headers. The holes on the headers line up with the holes on my block fine, and most of the bolts also screw in correctly. However, about two bolts on both headers will not not go in because the head of the bolts is crammed against the header pipe to point where they will screw in no longer. I am not sure if this problem stems from a manufacturer defact or the procedure used in installing the headers. I really thought this would only take a day or 2 at the most. if anyone can give me any advice that would be great.

Try to see if you can find some header bolts with a smaller head. Continue to use the same ones you have on all of the other holes but the ones you are having problem with. If that doesn't work give headman a call and either they can send you the right bolts or tell you where to get them.
The only other way is to make a slight indent on the header to allow room for the bolt to go. I would only recommend this as a last resort because if your indent causes a square edge it can lead to less life of the header...

Header Problems
Rudy, I have headman headers on my truck. There are two bolts on each side that have a 3/8 inch head. They would not fit otherwise. I have to use an open end wrench to get them off as a socket will not fit. They are too close to the pipe. The rest are 7/16. The bolts came with the headers.

The only bolts that came with my headers were the one for the colectors. I am goin to call hedmen tomoro and see if they can send me the right bolts. How Long did it take you to put on your headers and what did you do to get it right.

Header Problems
Most parts places sell allen head header bolts. Sometimes this really helps as hex head can be a real pita. Regards

That definatley is your problem if you are using the stock manifold bolts with the headers. Don't worry about the install time. With header bolts it will be much easier!!!!!!!!!!! Also don't forget to coat all of the bolts with antisieze. This will make it MUCH easier to remove the bolts later in life...
