today i said to myself "Enough of this nonsense, it's time to ride"

i cut the offending ear off the rear exhaust manifold, bolted the truck together, decided that the radio and the sliding rear window swap could happen later, and fired Clyde up with an resonating roar. Split manifolds running open let you know when you're in the throttle, and i ran 11 miles of back roads to my work. my ears were ringing.

tomorrow they are pouring new cement at my job, so i have the chance to roll Clyde in, build my custom exhaust, and the truck will just be stuck on the lift for a week or so. not a huge bother, i have other trucks to drive, but at least i will have a spot to work that will be undisturbed.

For anyone asking, im running dual 2.25" pipes off the manifolds to a dual in, single 3" out Magnaflow muffler, and then using a mandrel bent 3" tail made for a powerstroke. its gonna make Clyde sing like Barry Manilow.

Got the Exhaust bent up and put on today... wow, what a pain. dual 2.5"s are not intended to fit in that space.

Nothing makes a good day go sour like filling up Clyde and hearing a TWANG under the truck, alerting me that the original gas tank strap no longer wanted to stay in one piece. the day got slightly worse as i climbed into the bed to get a ratchet strap out of my toolbox, and the tailgate hinge point decided it needed to come off the bed.

Clyde is home now, lets see if i can get the damn truck back on the road for Monday.

Got the gas tank straps on, the holes drilled and the hitch mounted, the trailer wiring and lic plate light wired, and tore apart the dash to install the Tach and vacuum gauge. Got the holes drilled in the dash panel and we were all ready for final fitment when my dad picked up the panel and dropped the tach onto the floor. the dang tach shattered... oh well, such is life. i'll go buy a new tach tomorrow.

Yeah you got to be careful with the tank straps. I over tightened mine and it popped a hole in the tank that is currently corked by electrical putty.

Progress has been slow with Clyde, as i just went to the doctor today and found out i have walking pneumonia. Didn't stop me from doing a little dash work inside...

I had to clearance the bezel on the tach a bit to get them both to clear, but it looks good, and unless you look, you wont see it.

when i wired it all up, i decided to make it detatchable...

Yes, i used new plug ends, to provide the best connection, lol.

I did drive Clyde to and from the doc's today, dash torn apart. dang turn signal indicators get annoying with no green lens, just a bulb burning at you! I did notice when the truck gets nice and warm, the engine emits a high pitched whistle at idle and off idle. i think i may have gotten the alt belt a bit too tight, does that sound at all feasable??

Also, that brings me to my next question, the alt and associated pulleys are dual groove, but there is only one belt. Whats your opinions, single belt or dual?

I had pneumonia when I was like 9, worst crap I have ever had. I didn't eat for like 3 days and anything I did try to eat came back up. Then after I got rid of it I had a heck of a time doing anything for months as my breath would be taken quickly from me. The gauges look good!

Dual belts are difficult to tighten as they frequent are different lengths. Best to buy them as pairs. Most of our stuff do fine with one belt.
