build sheets

I was dismantling the '73 F100 that I used for parts on my '68 F100. In the roof in the recess between the headliner and the top of the door I found the build sheet. . . unfortunately a mouse had chewed up most of it. Under the dash I found a key-punched card taped to the inside of the dash. I haven't done any digging in my '68 yet . . . has anyone ever found a build sheet in their 67-72s? and does anyone have any info on what the key-punch card was used for?

The punch cards of yesteryear were replaced with scanning of a upc code.

It was just a way to keep track of them all.

Today at Ford's Expedition/Navigator plant, they have a special place called the shopping centre.

Everything is taken care of here t be placed in the correct sequence and then the parts are sent to the place of assembly. All this is done by computer so the parts plus options meet the right vehicle on the line.

I've found sheets in a few. A 72 had it under the seat springs like the later ones and I found one in a 69 behind the seat back. If anyone out there has found one in a 67-8 Mercury, please contact me.
