For the 80-86 I have owned F100 150 250 all the body parts are interchangeable. the only problem I every had was pulling the 400 from my 82 f250 super cab longbed and putting it in an 1980 150 it did bolt but i think the frame on the 250 was a ilttle wider but the engine did bolt up in th esecond set of bolt holes in the cross memeber. I think ford put almost the same engines in all there trucks becuase i have seen 300 sixs in 3/4 ton truck several times.

Well...i'm glad i accidentally clicked on this thread...b/c i just bought a 82 f-250 and was wondering if parts from my 81 f-100 would be compatiable!

I swapped in an 85 f-250 351W motor & motor mounts into a 90 f-250 diesel frame. so far so good.
as far as i could figure, mine 84 2wd,85 4x4, and 90 frame all look like the have the same dimensions, except the 90 doesn't have a hole for the oil filter for the windsor series, and is missing a bolt hole for the left inline six mount.
a question is (for me at least), does the 460 mount on the top of the crossmember like the 90's diesels, or does it mount behind the crossmember with mounts similar to the the Windsor series?

i've got a 82 f100 flareside full body and all setting on a 95 shortbed frame, everything from those 2 trucks lined up fine. just the front bumper mounting is the only thing we ran across that was diffirent.

curious- did you have to cut the core support for the '95 frame? i was wondering since the front rails on the '95 are "crinkled" up. (at least the f-150 ones i've seen).
I know my 85 & 90 f-250 frames are the same except the front shock mounts and the 90 bumper has a couple different holes on the frame.
