It's just a tough call whether to go ahead with the full kit or do the factory pieces. It seems like in the end to do the factory setup right it's going to nearly cost the price of the Zone 4" kit.

So, from what I can tell the F-350 SRW had the 4" rear block whereas the F-250 only had a 2" rear block. Also, it seems that the stock F-350 front springs are 2" taller than the F-250 front springs to match the 4" rear block. I would assume that the snow plow springs for an F-250 would be the same height as the F-350 stock springs then. So, in order to lift the truck 2" and level the front I would need the F-350 rear 4" block, F-350 stock or F-250 snow plow front springs, and a 2" front leveling kit. This combined with a set of 35" tires should give me 5" of lift in the front and 3" of lift in the rear over a stock F-250. I'm wondering if I should just go that route instead of the Zone kit. I have a feeling the Zone kit may be too high for my tastes but I don't know.

Anyone here have the Zone 4" kit?

If you use the factory springs like that, it's going to ride rough and very stiff. For the difference in cost I would get some variable rate coils in the length you want for the lift you need. Should be a big improvement in ride quality and it will match the stock rear leaf's better. You're gonna need a new track bar and caster adjusted, too.

Yea, that's why I'm thinking of just going with the Zone 4" kit. It's designed to all work together and ride well.

Did some more digging on this. It seems like a full kit is going to be the best choice. A set of stock springs seems to run into the 200 dollar range. A set of the 4" rear blocks seems to run into the 160 dollar range. A decent set of shocks appears to run around 250. That already puts me near 600 dollars without the radius arm drop brackets, adjustable track bar or relocation bracket, and would mean a system that's not completely designed to work together.

At this point it's either between the Rough County 3" lift or the Zone 4" lift as they both come with new front springs which I need as I'm fairly sure I've got mis-matched springs in the front. The Zone kit has nicer factory style rear blocks than the Rough Country lift and the Zone kit comes with a new track bar instead of just a relocation bracket. Also, the Zone kit includes boots on the shocks whereas the Rough Country lift does not. Big difference though is that the Rough Country lift is 550 and the Zone kit is 820 from what I can tell.

I am almost wondering if the Zone kit is going to be too tall and that I should keep the lift to a minimum. I want to be able to tow without issues. This is the reason I was debating just setting the truck to being just slightly taller than F-350 SRW height.

Don't know if you looked into this. I have this kit from ready lift Ford F350 Super Duty 2005-2007 SST Lift Kit, 4WD Only, 3.5"F/1.0"-3.0"R . It uses stock springs so it rides the same before and after installation.

That's a decent kit, but I need full coil springs in the front instead of just spacers since I have mis-matched springs.

Yea, that's about the price I was seeing for a pair. Like I said, the thing is that the Rough Country 3" lift with new coil springs, all 4 shocks, track bar bracket, radius arm brackets, rear blocks and hardware is 500 bucks. That's easily what the factory stuff would cost me with a cheap pair of shocks. I wouldn't mind getting a kit that all works together.

I want to pass on some info to help with the rear end sag your are referring to with the F250s while towing and hauling.
We have tested the StableLoad suspension product here on FTE.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...d-install.html
It has addressed the sag issue with great results.
It has the flexibility to easily engage and disengage in seconds and you will experience significantly better driveablilty by beefing up the leaf spring system that already exists.

Check it out. StableLoad - Lowest Cost, Most Effective Suspension Upgrade Available
This is a great alternative to expensive airbags and other suspension upgrades.

99-07's don't seem to have the sag issue, it's the 08+ that do.
