I walked up to her she handed me the tab and asked if the price of beer went up! She started cracking up and apologized. I told her not a problem, its all good for a laugh.

thanks Steve!! that is the way I did it. I will have to try it again after I weld this up. almost ready to weld it. little more grooving to do.

 

Ok, not a good day for this cast iron or maybe not boiler water tube. I feel defeated!!! I tried Tig welding it, stick welding it both with special welding rods and the crap cast would just blow away! I even tried brazing it and nope It would not take it! This sucks!! but I tried like hell for this guy. I do not know if something like JB weld would hold up to the heat cycles of the boilder so I think he will have to get a new one!!

It's rotten. They get like that from repeted heating and cooling cycles. Boilers suck to work on!
