2005 5.4 programmer

I have a 2005 f150 and i'm looking for a programmer for it, i really dont't want to spend a ton of money on one, but i dont wanna get a cheapt one if that makes since. I like the edge evo with in dash mounting. But i also heard that they kinda mess with the tranny. I'm looking one that will help out with towing such as shift frimness and shift points, and fuel mileage. What would be the best bang for the buck. And what are ya'll using?

I have an edge evolution that came out of my 2005. Liked it, ran trans only most days and towing when towing. All around good performance. For sale if youre still interested.
