Howdee Rob.
The Hydro co works well, but don't be late on it the first 3 days, once the pain gets ahead of it, you take a long time to catch up. Make sure you write down every time you take meds, or you could mess up and take too much, or not enough.
I usually end up on the couch for a month or more after surgery. Sleep comes hard, get it when you can.
Glad your doing better man.......

Good morning South Dakota, happy Thursday!
Rob, if that cat pops you...Well, you've seen what happens to balloons that get a hole in them, you'll be flying around the room!
Good morning guys! Day two of "better
living through chemicals" for me!
Not doing too bad, but didn't sleep very well. Too painful to lay on the bed, so I'm becoming one with the recliner.
That stupid gas they pump you full of for the surgery still hasn't worn off, so I feel like a water balloon.

Older one does, but the younger one is going to the neighboring district, so we have to take her. Nothing in our household is ever simple...
Thanks Charlie, appreciate the advice! I can feel the pain killer starting to wear off, then know it's time to for another. The wife has me doing half dose through the day, then a full dose at bedtime. I slept ok for about four hours last night till they started wearing off.

No it's not. We specifically chose to live where we live because it wasn't the "snob" disctrict... So now, we end up with a kid in that district anyway since they offer more classes. She tests pretty high in the "gifted" area and the wife got sold on their enhanced learning program. Which, by the way, still hasn't been implemented.
Don't get me wrong, I want my kid to have the best opportunity, but scheduling is going to be a nightmare next year when she is too old for the after-school program... school out at 3 and we both work till 5?

Take Tylenol in between to help with the pain. usually 4 hrs for hydro, 2 hr later you can have 1 Tylenol, so that splits the pain.
DO NOT TAKE IBPROPHAN, it thins your blood, and slows the healing process.
BTW, this may sound ignorant, but you need to be taking some stool softeners, now, and as long as you are on the hydro, you will get constipated, and that my friend is worse pain you will ever have. Call the wife, and have her pick some up on the way home.....

She is 10, 5th grade this year. It's about 10 miles south... on my way to work in the morning so it's not a problem getting her dropped off. She takes a bus after school to one of the local churches that has an after school program, then the wife picks her up at 4:30. But, once in 6th grade, she's too old for that program. I think my wife has plans for the older one to start picking her up next year... I don't like that either. SD allows kids to get their learner's permit at 14 so she'll be taking driver's ed this summer. Way too young if you ask me! I don't see enough maturity yet for her to be driving... that 14 year old permit thing was designed mainly for the farm kids. I understand that, most of those kids are driving tractors by 12 anyway.

Just telling you from experience. No pain is the best kind.
also when the incision starts to itch where you can't stand it, you can take a Benadryl to make it stop. The Benadryl will also help you sleep too
