Disk Brake Conversion question

I am doing my first disk brake conversion on the front end of my 1952 F1. I was just cleaning the area up and mocking things up...but, before I go any further, please look at the picture below and tell me if that is as far as the bearing adapter goes onto the spindle. I talked to customer support and they said that is correct, but it just seemed odd to me that it doesn't seat back against the flat surface.

Getting ready to do mine, but don't have it apart yet, so I guess we will bump you back up and hope someone who has done the conversion posts.

Is there a shoulder there stopping it from going further inboard? Does look odd.

There is a shoulder there. The spindle is 1.5 inches until that shoulder portion flares out to 1.75 inches. The adapter is 1.5 all the way through. I honestly think this is the way that it fits on, but I just wanted to have someone who has done one to confirm. Instructions say to put adapter on with Locktite and drive home with a piece of 2 inch pipe.

Thanks for the info. One more thing...this is a conversion kit from Speedway. Anyone know how the brake shoe clips go on? I haven't changed a set in a while and I can't figure out how these go on. This is the only thing I have left to do.

Looks aout right. Here's a shot of mine from back in 2004

in the pic you can see my homade driver to install the adapter. I made it from 1 1/2" pipe. I also heated the bearing adapters in the oven at about 450 degrees for a little bit to expand them. I made sure the spindles were nice and clean (smoothed them out with some emery cloth) then set the adapters in place and gave them a couple of light taps.
