It's tough for our postal service. I don't know everything about it but it's complicated for them.
They try to operate as a business but mail delivery is mandated, allowed by our constitution initially giving congress the power to create post offices so it's a service that must exist, serving all Americans so it's not a business.
The mandate is also to simply break even, not make a profit.
With less physical mail, vehicles and staff are still traveling their routes to deliver at least a piece of junk mail so I can understand why expenses are high.
I personally just pay the extra for UPS or FedEx. I have a difficult time waiting and USPS is too slow.

Man I'm like another 7 pages behind, geeze.
Darren, congrats on the new Sat dish and the Go-Pro camera. Thanks for sharing the photo's of Romania.
Paul, Nice to hear your helping out an orphanage.
Kper, No idea on the noise, mine make all kinds of strange noise's, I try not to worry about them. I just hope and pray that none of the computers in my truck have Windows 8 installed.
Gavin, Good luck with the Muzzleloader.
This is a good one. ROR
Nice.
Very nice picture Scotty, Thanks for sharing.
I wish we had some snow even just a little would be nice. I installed some snow breaks on a couple of the roofs this year and looking forward to seeing how they work and nothing. We have had one little bit of snow but it was like heavy frost. Love the photo.

My project today got cancelled due to weather and basically spent half the morning at work digging out the fleet trucks haha I didn't even bother shoveling out the truck beds, just enough to be able to see. A few had completely frozen batteries and wouldn't start. I filled up a sink full of hot water and let them sit in the bath for several hours to thaw before I clamped on the charger.
