It's tough, where my wife is from they have a different way of doing things... The way we raised our kids... well let's just say they don't sleep unless someone is with them. So now they both wake up a couple of timese EVERY NIGHT. I have not slept in 6 years so I guess my parent should be able to handle 8 days.... My parent are pretty strick.... and they don't necessarily agree with the way we do things... Whatever, it is what it is at this point.

Just be there for them when they need it and the rest falls into place. Just be ready to be Dad and not their "buddy" when they need it when they get older. You're a good Dad and I'm sure your better half is a good Mom (although the evidence I have suggests your winning, but whatever
