I don't think the stock guys appreciate the deleted guys humor sometimes (maybe I feel a little guilty or something), but the first think I thought of when I saw the DPF clogged thread was:

Nope, it's not clogged

I hope he's using his head, I'm afraid he'll be trading this car in within a year also, he'll never get ahead. I told him he should've gotten a good used compact if saving money and mileage was his main concern, something he could pay off real quick and won't be upside down on when he gets the itch again. You can lead em to water, just can't make '`em drink. He's 25 now, not much I can do but give opinions, hopefully he won't crash and burn though.

I hear you Mitch. I never thought of him extending the payments a year (likely). Sounds like some good stuff I laid on my wife when I bought my first NEW sled. I was so smooth back then...lol.

So true Andre, I see so many threads with emission problems, I don't chime in too much on those, sure they don't want to hear my opinion.

Been there myself, I try to keep my kids from making the same mistakes I did, but they're just like I was at that age, a 10' tall, bulletproof genius!

Yeah, I need to get a handle on it! She won't admit it, but she loves my truck. Her brother recently bought a new Dirtymax, I overheard her on the phone saying, " it's nice Bobby, but why didn't you buy a real truck"! All I could say was, you go girl!

Trading in can get expensive, but sometimes the cheaper payment can be good too. Gotta let them learn on their own. I don't like dodge cars anyways, but today's 6 and 4 bangers are not what they were 10-20 years ago. Heck the new 4 cyl mustang has more stock hp then my stock 1990 5.0 had.... yes it needs a turbo to do that and it isn't a true muscle car IMHO. But then again we are talking about transportation...

I see that south central AK had a 7.0 EQ. Wonder if that was felt in Seward. We didn't feel anything in Fairbanks and I'll ask the neighbors when we get back tomorrow to Anchorage.

Doug I'm on WiFi here at the hotel don't know why it won't send. I'll try it when I get home... it is aggravating that I can't post photos. Starbucks is in a grocery store here... if we hit the store before we leave I'll try it then.

He's working and going to school, said he reduced his car payment, insurance and the Charger gets 30 MPG (supposedly). It's a nice car no doubt, I just know he will regret it, and a Charger with a V6?, sacrilege I tell you!
I did hear the Warden tell him he'd regret it and that he wouldn't be borrowing OUR truck to abuse (it's suddenly our truck!) when he needed to tow the 4 wheeler, etc. Oh well.....TGIF
Hope they changed the front suspension on the later LX platform cars. I just got rid of an 06 Magnum and the front end was shot, my wife put up with rattles and bangs for 50,000km until I figured it wasn't worth the few thou to replace it all. It was the Hemi, motor still ran great @ 215kkm but the oil sensor was bad again on it (replaced once).

My oldest son has been driving for 8 yrs now. He has had I think 12 vehicles and still owns 3 of them. He claims to have car ADD

Most have been pretty quick rides, currently the LS swapped RX8.

Steve,
That kid is "Mopar or no car", must get that from his mother!. He learned to drive in a 2005 RAM Rumble Bee I had purchased during a low point in my life, LOL. The drivetrain in that truck was great, just everything else was junk, but I guess being the first vehicle he drove alot had an impression. I just worry he will get himself in a bind financially one day. Gotta live & learn I guess. I'll never allow him to starve, but I will not bail him out on things like this.

I had an 80's Firebird with a V6 once. Sure wasn't winning any races in that thing.

I hear you Brett, there's just certain cars that are supposed to be a big V8, not just the speed issue either, gotta have that Detroit V8 soundtrack! (I know, just showing my age now!)

Those big V8 days are numbered and I agree with you Mitch on that. Heck, I keep wondering when you won't be able to get a V8 in a F150... As it is, the days of a true manual with a clutch are about over too.

Manual trannys with a clutch are very rare in the US now.
