This is prolly a 1 page thread at most
And most of them stink! I agree that the spray in liners don't offer much dent protection as they are nothing more than a tough paint job for the most part, but I can't stand the plastic liners. I still haven't done anything with the 2011 but had LineX in the 2006 in conjunction with a good bed mat. I transferred the mat to the 11 and haven't felt the need to waste money on any kind of liner so far. I have trailers to haul the rough stuff like dirt, gravel and mulch. The bed is covered all the time except for when the fifth wheel is hitched up so I don't really care i there are scratches in the bed. I used to believe that you absolutely needed protection for the bed, but the way I use my truck mostly, it is a waste of time and money plus it just adds weight to the truck albeit not much.
Personally I think the spray in liner people are ripping us off. The material isn't all that expensive when purchased in bulk. Most of their cost is the prep work. It would only take a minimal amount of labor to spray the lining twice as thick which would be more effective. I bet the extra material wouldn't cost $50. Just like anything else, if we keep paying it, they will keep charging it.

As I've said before I am so very bad at applying coating-like substances, so paint, bedliner, undercoating, etc. - that I'm not even going to argue. Yep bedliner costs are pretty much prep and labour and then I get a "long bed surcharge" tacked on top of that... oh well.
It covers up the scratches is all. Yes, you can still scratch bedliner but it is less apparent. Think of it like those cutting mats... yeah they still get cut but they don't show it as much. Scratches on a white or black truck show up, grey maybe less so.
Getting bedliner done isn't even a mod anymore to me lol it's just step 2 after you get a truck.

I meant no disrespect for those who have/will do it. It just isn't my cup of tea. I remember my first truck, I was dead set on getting it (line x). My dad said, your $500, than pointed at his 88 f-250. He said lift the bed liner, so I did. The floor looked great! Than he said, now go put your hands threw the bed side's.......how will that line x help you? He was right, and I knew it immediately. So in 2003, I bought a brand new truck. Within 1 hour I dropped my tire changer, and caved the wheel well in. I bought a drop in the next week. The floor still gets dented down between the bed cross rails, but the wheel well's never got another dent, and short of a little paint missing, it looked great.
Paul, My rhino lining doesn't hold anything, except if you are trying to shovel something out.
