So the crack on my roof that I thought was metal, apparently was bondo. A lot of it.... Looks like a tree fell on it or something and the previous owner just filled it...

Pretty thick. Can't stand how people cut corners and do it wrong rather than do it right the first time. I already stopped by my body guy, should be dropping it off in a week or 2. No leaking so ill just deal with it looking like poo for the time being. lol

Oh.

I'm wondering if it's better to have a whole new qtr panel welded on...but my body guy who I know and trust, he said he can pull the dent out so it's not so deep. Then prep it and use quality filler to finish it, not an inch deep though LOL...

We shall see. I know he will do me right, and keep the price low. He told me about 3-400. I honestly was expecting a lot more, I was ****ting my pants today on the way to the body shop, thinking it was gonna be upwards of 1000+

yeah, mine was in a bad spot. with all the body lines and crap. ended up paying $2500. had est of $4k so i was happy with what it ended up being.

i dont see any reason it can be pulled out and alittle filler then be good to go.

itll all come together soon enough. but its on hold until i get my roof fixed. goes to the body shop not this week but next. cant really do anything else until i put the headliner back in, and i cant do that because he's going to remove the rear cargo vent window. i parked it in my aunts garage today and picked up the HHR, figured id drive that for a while since its been sitting since i got the excursion in July hahah

Is it just me or did you tint the front windshield? If so, don't you have any issues seeing at night or any problems with local law enforcement?

I did. All my cars are double 5% from the front doors back, and 5% on the whole front windshield. It's not too hard at night since I'm used to it (been driving with it like that for about 6-7 years)

Once and a while I get stopped. I've had maybe 7 tickets in my life for tint, so say a ticket a year for the time I've been driving with the tint haha.
