Help Please

I have a 1979 ranger 4x4 I have searched and cant find anything specific to my problem. I have a set of leveling springs im trying to put in the truck and after putting in the new c bushings the axle seems to have moved foward like three inches, do i have to come along it back like changing radius arm bushings? Do i maybe have the wrong degree bushings ? I've been fighting this for at least three days and i know someone has gone through this, any help is welcome.

Moved forward? That is strange.

Assumptons: New C-bushings, existing RA bushings, and all hardware is tight.

Did you have to undo the RA nuts? That is the only thing I can think of that would allow the axle to be pushed forward.

Exactly what did you buy and replace? Only the C-bushings? Do you think it the new bushings are locating the axle where it is supposed to be (by design)?

I dont know if its the c bushings or not and no i did not undo the ra nuts. At the piont it is right now it takes me jacking the axle upp less than a foot frome the frame to get it looking level but the springcup is ahead of the retainer up top. Could the driveshaft be binding up and keeping he axle from going back when i jack it up?

Sounds like a good possibility. Could be over extended and locked up.

I'll try to take a pic but after putting the springs in and jacking up the axle its gone almost all the way back to normal. Butif you look at the grease marks on the driveshaft its like a 1/4 to 1/2 off but i think once its done itll go back i hope. Thanks for the help just needed to get away from it for a day i think.
