E-fuel kit.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get an idea for a project that I have going. For my college class in business administration I am required to create and market a product. Most people do stuff like lemonade stands, car washes etc. I'm gonna take this a step further. My question is, at what price point would you choose a complete e-fuel setup, versus having to track down the pieces and make your own, or two purchase one of the famous ones?

I've been talking to some suppliers and have found good connections to readily available off the shelf pieces to this kit. The expected price point would be somewhere around $650-$750. It would be comparable to Swamps, Beans, etc. Depending on the price point I could get various changes into the product, ie stainless lines, milled aluminum mounting brackets etc.

However, its not something I am going to try if the market I am trying to attract will go towards a DIY version, or simply have the capital on one of the major guys kits. Mostly catering to the market of guys who want e-fuel on a budget, like the idea of off the shelf components, and don't want to pay an insane amount for it.

Are there things that you would like to see or not see in the kits?

If the kit is 650-700 and has every nut and bolt required to put it in then great! Also instructions for removal and installation would be expected.
I wanna do e-fuel... so DO IT

Alright then good deal. I've got some threads going on various sites so hopefully get an idea of initial product numbers and then test run one on my truck and then make up the kits and ship em.

I like your idea and I think it could work well. Im a DIY but since Im outside of your country, for me its more difficult to get together all the stuff needed to do the e-fuel, so if you offer a cheap kit, Id buy it for sure.

Good luck with your project.

Would you purchase at kit at around the $600-$750 price point, if I could get it shipped to your country for a good price?

I would say a complete kit for $500 and upgrades maxing out at $700. A pump, dual filters, lines to hook up to existing fuel system, & regulated return. Upgrades: stainless lines in the valley, upgrade all the fuel lines to some braided, fuel cooler return, pre-heater to engine. My $0.02

I agree with them above, For me always its more expensive for the import expenses, for sure IF I get it at the door of my home, for $660,$750 price would be excelent.

I like that idea ^^^
If it was like 600 bucks id buy it with instructions and what not. Biggest thing i like to do is buy things to help out the little guy. I rather buy from a guy who i know i can ask questions to and someone who is just starting out trying to make their own money.

But good luck with your idea.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. I'll see what I can get going here shortly. Looks like there will be enough interest to justify it though.

I like the idea of a basic kit for $500. Optional upgrades would increase the price. Obviously, there would have to be a profit margin for you, though. If there was a place you could go to buy a basic e-fuel kit with everything I needed, including hardware and good installation instructions, for $500, I would immediately start saving up for it.
