Disabled Driver needs Audio Alert on Low Gas indicator

Hello,
I'm an autistic adult who has 2003 Ford Ranger. I need my car to make a noise when it is low on gas. I don't see the light often because I am focusing on driving and often don't notice it or forget that I am low on gas until I am stranded. I have always driven cars with audio alert for Low Gas -- my grandpa gave me this car and I really like it but it is not safe for me without an audio indicator.

Does anyone know if this is possible? I carry spare gas when I am able. I just need to be more safe because I have moved to a rural area with few gas stations.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to FTE, if the indicator light works off 12 volts I would think you could possibly hook some sort of 12 volt buzzer off it that sounds when the light comes on, but I can't say this is possible for sure. I'd suggest taking your vehicle to a mechanic and ask them, they could probably test it to see if it's possible, or maybe someone else can chime in here on the subject.
