Huge difference...

I went to pick up my Dad's truck because I need to do a couple things to it tomorrow. It's a 2002 F250 SD, 7.3L PSD, supercab, longbed, 2WD. We call her "Old Ironsides" and is used primarily to pull their 13k fiver. After driving mine all day then picking his up this evening, the difference between the 2 is unreal. The new ones are so much more refined, quiet and ride a TON better. I like his truck as well, mostly because of the 7.3, but there is no comparison. Just thought I'd share...

Thanks for the comparison! I've driven a couple 7.3L trucks and I have to agree. While I think all SDs ride like lumber wagons the quietness and refined feeling you get from driving a 6.7L truck really becomes addicting. I'd love to get my hands on a 7.3L for the sake of nostalgia, but I don't think I'll ever love it like I did my 6.7!

This is why you should be driving a 6.7

Thanks Steve...

The worst thing is that I traded mine so I wouldn't be making a large payment and driving my old Contour to work every day. So I got a Mustang, lost $60/month on the payment, and STILL drive my Contour to work everyday! Can't seem to get the advertised 26 MPG...

I do miss the truck badly, perhaps in the next year or so one may follow me home.

I just wanted to join the bandwagon that gives you a hard time .

Gotta do what's financially best. I'll be commuting in my 01 Hyundai in Vegas...so I do understand your position.

But...I would consider a 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, 5.9, etc a downgrade from what I drive now. I would not buy one. I would buy a Tundra or an Ecoboost F-150 before I would buy a 7.3.

I remember my '96. I made the trip between Beaumont, TX and Atlanta too many times to count. I had to be sure not to drink anything carbonated before going through LA because I10 was so rough through there that it'd make me sick
