I would not go with any HEI set up either. Motorsport wires are alright, but as stated their lengths are not what you would expect. I have used Taylors since the original Saleen tune up days and have used nothing else on my vehicles.

Twisted Wedge heads have a very efficient combustion chamber and work best with about 28*-030* of total timing.

That is actually one of the drawbacks to the GM HEI. It is great for convenience, but having the coil and ignition module all piled on top of the distributor is not the best place to have these components. I think the HEI is one of the least attractive distributors ever made, and on a Ford engine, it will be sitting right up front and center.

Something doesn't seem right to me when a plain, re-manufactured stock Duraspark distributor from the local parts store is about $65, yet the shiny, polished aluminum HEIs, complete with coil and module and pretty colored cap, is less than $50 for the whole shebang. Why is that? There is an old saying that goes something like this:

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
