Here are 2 pics of my dash. Just plain stock! The dash was painted when the body was painted. I painted the steering column, brake and clutch pedals, the emergency brake, the gear shift lever, the turn signal switch, the kick panel retainers, and the cowl vent handle with a rattle can. I painted the trim to the instrument panel, swiped the indicator needles with red paint, and cleaned the black and silver paint on the inside of the panel. I know this is not part of the dash but I now have a better steering wheel in place.....

I have an early Bronco instrument cluster with electro-illuminescent kit and lightly tinted glass to go in this hole...
Pic is a little older, but the dash itself has not changed since this was taken...

Let me ask you guys with the beautiful dashes - I've had one recurring problem with mine. The stupid glovebox won't stay closed beautifullly like you guys. Are you using some secret method for keeping them closed like that? Mine is a 1950 F1 & has some sort of c-clip thing that honestly doesn't work that well.

Is there some hidden latch you are using? Magnets?

Thx

Ben, mine stays closed because of that C-shaped spring. Maybe yours has lost it's springiness? It's attached to the right hinge.

Thanks Joe & Joel,
I've always admired both of your trucks. Sometimes it's the little things -
the glovebox door bangs open while you are driving - squares the crap out of you. I'll try a new clip - do you recall which parts place you got it from? The hardware store has some magnets - I'll try that as well.

I'm wrangling with the transmission shifting early & I'm hitting somewhere up in the front left wheel area - Big things always get the most attention but sometimes the little one's are even more aggravating.

Any hints on getting the little vent windows closed - I replaced everything & now it's a bear to get them closed. They are pretty pricey so I don't want to break them again by pressing too hard....

Thanks guys.

My spring is original equipment, and it was kind of a pain to install it. But I see Dennis Carpenter has the spring for $5:

GLOVE BOX SPRING 1948-1952 # 8C-8106068

No idea where they're made...
