i have been of a few of those jobs Ken. ain't pretty with all the idiot commuters venting their frustrations because they are late for work.
they simply can not understand it is not as simple as dumping a bunch of dirt over the side and calling it fixed.
West bound traffic can get through OK...eastbound traffic has a 1 mile detour for light traffic...TT units have about a 10 mile detour. No real issues so far. The eastbound lane will be out of service for about another month...which will take us into foliage season.
Here is another shot...the vehicles look like Tonka trucks...
I did that exact thing with a dodge Magnum rental car. Prince Edward Island was hit with a hurricane and we went to see the aftermath. Water was rushing across the dirt road and we couldn't turn around. We had to climb out the passenger side and it was starting to snow! Left the car and walked a mile. The rest of the day wasn't much better.
my friend Doug did that with his 4 month old 86 F150.
he "checked" the water depth by tossing a stick into the center of the water.
only issue was the stick stuck straight center of the road center grade stake......with 5 foot cuts on either side.
