Thump?

Hey guys;

Lately when I start my truck, there is an occasional, muffled "thump" or "whump" under the passenger floor, one to two seconds after starting.

Seems about where the "Y" pipe comes together, altho' I'm not under my truck at 4am so I'm guessing.

It appears to be in the exhaust and happens about once in every four times. This is after sitting overnight, or for a full 12hr. shift, so it was run well before shutting off and has sat for a while.

Is this the dreaded "flutter"? Should I take it in?

Rick

Thump?

V10;

Ya think? I'm not arguing, but it seems to be lower down. I'll pay more attention to it for the next little while.

Thanks, I hope you're right. (As always)

Thump?

The valve door closes pretty loudly under the dash on the passenger side. Evidently it's normal in SD's, so I guess we have to live with it.

Thanks guys,

I have to admit tho', I'm becoming suspicious of all these noises, bangs, whines, thumps and grinds that are "normal" with our SD's.

Enjoy your weekend,

Rick
