List of bolt on additions for the trucks..(Little to no modifications ONLY)

I'd like to get a sticky list of stuff that can be swapped off of other vehicles, or from different trucks, etc....For quick reference...

1)Crown Victoria LTD column swap-

I did this to my truck, and it was EASY.....Less than an hour of work, it was swapped out....Here's some EXTREMELY usefull info...
  • The Ignition Switch from a 1991 Corwn Victoria, is the same as a 1992-1993 F-150/Bronco, etc....
  • 1994+ models uses the SAME connector/box, except that the hold down bolt/shroud is literally 1/16" of an inch different...Take note of what you're swapping around.....If from this era of trucks, use the one off of your OEM column
  • The steering shaft/U-Joint is sorta different in the length's....I simply swapped the brackets, etc over from the F-150 to the Crown Vic column...
  • The Multi-Function switch (Wipers/Turn Signal lever) is the same from the 1991 Crown Victoria, as to the 1992+F-150's/Bronco's, etc...Only difference is that the CV's MF switch is chrome...
  • The Crown Vic steering wheel actually utilizes a different steering wheel adapter from grant....About $50 cheaper ($25 vs. $80)

Again....This was literally a plug and play setup....Also, for you 1992-93 owners, you'll inexplicably gain a airbag!

Here's another thing thats a neat deal....

2) All of the interior panels will interchange from the 1987-1991 trucks, to the 1992-1996 trucks, with a couple exceptions that need to be addressed....

  • The speedometers (1987-1991) use different method for speed/odometer readings than the 1992-1996 models....So those will need to be swapped, addressed, etc..
  • The vent windows are different from the 1987-1991 era trucks/bronco's to the 1992-1996 trucks/Bronco's...You'll need to swapped between the two era if you do the swap....

3)Tired of that cheap plastic door handle breaking in your 1987-1996 truck/Bronco?

Swap in a set of 1980-1986 F-100/150 Door handles...They're stronger, being made of metal...And chrome to boot!

4)All the wheels from the 1980-1996 era trucks interchange...

5)To do a 1980-86/1987-1991 era truck front end conversion to a 1992-1996 era front clip....

You'll need to swap the-

-Radiator support
-Fenders
-Hood
-Bumper
-Bumper brackets (that attaches the bumper to the frame....Might need some brackets fabbed up....Just have to pay attention...)
-Cowl
-Grille
-Headlights, bezels, etc....

*Note-The wheel arches are different between the 1980-86 era trucks, to the 1992-1996 era trucks.....Just a heads up....Might even look into a bed swap also.....Depends on your situation, etc...A good donor truck comes to mind here...

4) The seats will all interchange between the 1980-1996 era trucks....Just need to swap the brackets, etc between the 2....Again, pay attention to things...lol

Now, I'd like others to add in more stuff....ONLY, if it is a KNOWN, EASY to do modification....References to Part #'s, actual makes and models are a necessity....Period...Otherwise, don't post....

Have fun!

the bucket seats out of a explorer and ranger of the same era will bolt directly to the fullsize seat brackets (i had 93 explorer seats in my 85 f250 only downside was no armrests)

I like the door handle tip. I've already replaced the door handle in my '92 F-150 about three or four times. That's three or four times too many. I'll do this next time it breaks. And it probably will..
