"Code 33"
My truck idles and runs fine. Mileage is also good(12-14 in the city). The only thing is that it kind of hesitates when it gets to the 1000-1100 rpm mark, once you go by it runs fine and smooth, it's just that certain mark.
I ran the codes on the computer and it gave us(friend and I) a code#33, EGR valve not opening. We checked the vacuum line going to the EGR and didn't feel to be getting any vacuum. We then checked the vacuum line map located under the hood and noticed that the line that was going to the EGR valve was coming from the canister can. According to the vacuum label the right vacuum line that should be going to the EGR should come from the EVR solenoid. We corrected the vacuum paths by putting back the two lines that come from the canister can to the intake and the vacuum line from the EVR to the EGR.
My question is can the EVR gotten damaged since the previous owner was running the truck this way?
If the EVR is not releasing the vacuum properly can this cause the EGR valve not to open completely?
The truck seems to be running the same except for that hesitation when taking off and sometimes on idle the engine would run like if there is a slight miss, it's very suttle unless you hold it in that RPM range then you will notice it.
