Moe, have you had any luck at our Goodguys show in Nov?
I didnt know what to look for when I was there last year but man in swamp meet row there was thousands of radios...
Oh and thanks for pointing out they have value. I thought the one in my truck was a Ford...
But I will keep my eyes peeled. I'm new to this world but I will quickly find deals.

Radio face plate
I had the same idea years ago but since I was a Poor B_d I couldnt even get a regular ford radio so I bought a face plate for a 50' ford and stuck it on a 55' plymouth radio with some rework (FRANKENRADIO). Pic below is it unfinish. Works great and I listen to baseball on it every night in the garage. THEN......another faceplate for the rare merc radio showed up on ebay for $5, chrome, I bought it and wrote the guy selling it and asked him if he any any other pieces for it. He said the radio didnt work and threw it in the trash. I asked how long ago that was and he said he just did it. I offered him $20 for his trash, repaired the radio (just needed capacitors) and it works great. $600 radio for $25.

I went and checked out that 49 that is sitting in the bush. There appeared to be a radio and speaker at one time but only the holes left in the dash. I did however find the tool tray with the rounded ends, the bottom of it is rusted out but the sides are in good shape, but that's for the other thread.
