I just bought a 59 f-100 that somebody started customizing and either went broke or gave up. Steering this thing is going to kill me, will putting in new king pins make a big difference? Is there a way to convert to power steering? Where do you find aftermarket parts in general? I bought a 67 c-10 a couple of months ago and there are parts everywhere for it, but I'm not finding a lot of sources for Fords so far. By the way, I now have a 67 c-10 step side for sale. This f-100 is a beast!

Welcome to FTE. I love the 59's

I'm not so familiar with parts specific for that year as I've got 51-53 trucks but as Fred said check there and if your having trouble finding a specific part let us know.

btw is your truck a 2 wheel drive or a 4x4? I almost got a 59 4x4 a couple years ago cause I love that year but am glad I didn't as it was really rusty and I have too many projects already.... maybe someday..

2wd stepside. it's been lowered, and has disk brakes. the body and frame are pretty clean. i really like the earlier fords, but this truck looks good and has a built 460. it needs to be cleaned up inside the cab and painted and i could probably call it finished. i'm sure i'll keep going, though.

Welcome, Heavy.

You'll not have a problem finding emblems, most are being reproduced.

Door panels?I don't believe there are any off-the-shelf ones being made, but no problem for any good upholstery shop.

There are at least two types of P-S conversion kits available for the 57-60 trucks. Here's a link to the one I found quickly:

Classic Car and Truck Brake, Steering and Suspension Parts

The other one,I will have to find.It allows you to use most of your stock components I think, such as column, etc., and is a bit less money,a bunch less work.I'll get you the link, soon.

thanks,
good to see another 59 owner. part of me wants to leave the steering like it is just because it's a challenge to drive. after market heat and air are going to be high on the list too. i think that will be pretty easy.

If you can copy and paste the link, then add before and after the link, they should come up. Are your facebook pics large enough to see good?

now that i look at these, the files aren't big enough to see really well. i'll have to take some pictures with a real camera and download them.
