The adjustable timing set falls in the "nice to have" but not absolutely necessary category here... assuming the cam you get meets advertised spec... which they don't always do. And if you were to go with the suggested roller cam a couple degrees advance wouldn't be a bad idea, so maybe get the adjustable set anyway.

wound up going for the Cloyes 9-1138 adjustable.
and ordered a seal kit from ford racing parts, will probably still have to get a rear main seal since the website says it wont work with 351w only 302. well its a easy part and the repair sleeve is relatively cheap from autozone or schucks
now just gotta wait on parts...will post up when all done with the cam swap

i got some headman headers on the cheap and am wondering what i should do for exhaust sizing. i WILL do a two to one and keep with my side dump exhuast. running though a flowmaster 40.
my question is what size reducers should i run from the headers the out let on the headers are 3". i was thinking 3" reduced to 2.5" then combining into 3" back does that sound right? or should i reduce to 2.25 after the header then combine into 3"? i've generally ran dual exhuast w/H-pipe and 2.25" back, but im not doing that this time as the truck is already a single side dump after the cab and i kinda like that way for this truck
