You think you have tuff laws regarding mods, here in Aus we have power to weight regs, if you modify a vehicle you need an enginers report, emission, brake test $2000 to $4000 just for that.Any new engine must comply with euro5 emissions. Our country is run by people who think a 3 series bmw is sporty. Tell them nothing !

Don't know what to tell you other than go newer and get something that runs decent stock, or go older and be exempt.

Back to my question--have you owned this thing long enough to have had it tested? And if so, do you have the printout from a test that it passed?

Don't tell me you bought it without a smog and are now trying to get it registered in your name....

Haha. This was my dads first car back in 79. He actually bought me a 96 Bronco but i was so attached to his old one he kept the new one for himself and now i drive the 79

The liberal environmentalists are a bunch of hypocrites and fail to look at the energy input required to produce and operate a vehicle. Next time, ask a greenie how my vehicles they have owned since they were able to drive... multiply that by the average weight of a vehicle.. let's say 3,200 pounds. Then figure out how much energy has been used to produce all those vehicles. No calculate one 4,500 pound Dentside on the road for more than 30 or 35 years and kept alive with wrecking yard and remanufactured parts. It is more "environmentally sound" to keep an old vehicle on the road than the total energy inputs for each vehicle they have owned and operated.

It's called amortization... the longer you keep it, the less energy per year it actually "costs" in commodities, labor, and manufacturing and processing. Who is actually using more resources? Hmmmm... food for thought, eh?

Yep, my exhaust is aimed out in front of the right rear tire. I love blipping it when there's a Prius next to me... and in CA that seems to be more often than not. Suck it!!!

The greenies around here complain about fumes and old vehicles, so they either hitch hike everywhere, and or drive a rusted out totally neglected Vw van that farts and pops and smokes worst than most vehicles.
I guess the old Vw vans are so cool that they possibly cant emit bad emissions.
Altho in the winter no one complains, cause it sucks walking in the snow and ice, hehehe
