depends on where you are in the country, how good of condition the drivetrain is in and what she means to you.

Everything is subjective, I wouldn't pay more than 1500.

To me that truck's worth a dollar.. of course that's because I have no use for trucks that don't work. Also, it's hard to put a dollar amount on something you have no info on.

Why do you guys always have to under bid me? It's not a government construction job!

I only put it that high because it has a relatively nice flareside bed. And i dig the copper paint job.

Our trucks really aren't worth a whole lot - we fix them up to enjoy them, not to resell them. Doesn't really matter to me as my F80 150 I6 has run for 22 years and has almost 450K miles on it. I can't even imagine how much $$$ this truck as saved me (and AutoZone's lifetime warranty on parts - haha) vs. buying a newer one.

That's a real sweet looking ride; it's similar to what I want my ride to look like when I get the paint and body work done, except I'm going for the darker brown/bronze color.

I know what you mean. I bought a 92 Bronco to play with, but my 85 F-150 is for work. I love that truck, but I'm not gonna waste money on a high dollar paint job. Heck, if it get's bad enough, I might break out a paint roller and a gallon of latex...

I'd figure around $700-$900, if it's solid under that paint. It's a 2 wheel drive with a six-banger and an automatic. No one in their right mind wants that. If it was a 460 then you might have more of a market for the 2wd crowd. As it sits though, the only desirable thing about it is the stepside bed.

460's were not avaliable in that year.

Dark Caramel Metallic paint, Nutmeg interior, flareside, A/C...

I agree, around $700-$900 around here.

Mine was insurance body shop appraised a year ago at $1500 due to it's miles and lack of A/C, when someone backed their trailer into the drivers bedside. I was also told by the same appraiser I could possibly get $3500 if I sold it privately, so who knows? It depends on area or the people at the time.

Nor were they ever available from the factory in half tons, to my knowledge. Truck has had nearly 30 years in which one could be swapped... Which would raise the value.

Yeah, if you were considering sellig... Don't, because you won't get anywhere near what you have into it. If you did a 460/ZF5 swap along with one tons a maybe a small lift (4" perhaps) you might have a hot ticket for $6500-$7500 if the truck is solid and well done. You'd have a lot more than that into it though even at that point. It's just waht the market is.

Don't be put off, it's a sweet looking truck. I used to have an '83 stepside and loved that thing with the hot rodded 302, NP435 and even the weak IFS front. It was a fun truck with great body lines. I'd love to do another, but they're just not worth much unless they're solid with a V8 and 4x4.

Or lower the value. There is something to be said for originality.

Whatever you do, make sure the job is done right.
