hood latch
Went though all my books today looking for a hood latch for my 66. found one ( cant remember which book. maybe classic auto) anyway it was around 90 bucks. seemed a bit pricy but will spend if i have to. dont wanna even think about the alternative. anyone have another place to look? Dutch

Have you been to any wrecking yards and had a look? I got one there for
10$...it was a chance buy, as the hood wasn't on it, but I got lucky...works good.
What's wrong with the old one?..I'm assuming it won't stay closed
right...this was a pretty common problem from what I've learned as
people used to always slam their hoods, and it messes up the latch.

C3TZ-16700-F (replaced: C1TB-16700-A & B; C1TZ-16700-C) .. Hood Latch-Bolts to upper grille panel / Obsolete
Note: Does not include safety catch or other latch related parts that bolt to the hood.
Applications: 1961/66 F100/750 / 1961/66 B500/750 (B = School Bus).

thanks Bill will call them. I think mine is just worn out. i've lost two hoods and a windshield in the last fourty years and am real leary about putting another used one on. i have two in my junk drawer and after looking them over i threw them back in there. think i'm gonna go new. Dutch
