I'm from Colorado originally, not really a southern state. My father had the accent a bit, and since the majority of fellas I hang around with the Navy are southerners I do have the drawl a bit.

If I can pass with the exhaust when I get up there, I won't worry about it. It ain't too loud with the CAT and Muffler on it, good deep throat and a nice drop in temps. It sounds like I'll be alright.

As strange as it sounds I spent the first 7 years of my career up there, and wanted as far away from the state as possible. My wife, on the other hand, has family up in New England so with me deploying its better for her to be close to home.

I'll place a call to the joint that I bought the truck from, see if there is anything they know that's different. Thanks again.
You should have no problem! Reg and emissions is once every two years here. Once you pay initial reg. fee, renewal fee is generally around 100 dollars. Not sure if I remember 100% correctly but every time I've bought a vehicle that wasn't from CT, in order to register it here, you will probably have to go to an emissions station first, but they may take your states inspection. Emissions runs 20 bucks.

the best thing to do is nothing at all. WORST CASE.....you fail, and you get a free retest within 30? days. so if you fail for not having a cat, you put your cat on and go get a free retest.

its really not the worst, and like stated before...most diesels slip through any real inspecting.

i took my 97 through several times with a straight pipe dumping after the cab. later on i extended it out the back, but was still straight pipe and they never said anything. that truck didnt have obdII so it was rattling the walls of the shop when it was on the dyno. the first time i thought it was a guaranteed fail. passed every time!

If I remember it was every year the last time I was up there, which is a bit of a nuisance. I'm hoping the dually, actually will help make the inspection less intrusive. Most folks don't expect a dually to move as quick as mine does.

Yeah, the truck plates I had ('96 Chevy K1500) didn't transfer to this truck. They had to put COMM plates on it, which was unexpected.

Afternoon gents.
I have comm plates and there is no emissions.
My cat and EGR are on vacation.
You will need to come to a GTG once you get into the state.

Are you going to get a set of plates like mine for your dually?

colo: no inspections in CT anymore, you being out of state will need to get VIN verified but that is just an inspector checking the VIN on papers vs VIN on vehicle. 5 minutes.

Monson hill climbs, August. Someone just had a tranny rebuilt by Dynamic. Gotta see how it works.

Where in CO are you from? I grew up just outside of Boulder. Plan on moving back as soon as I can. No real rush, but it WILL happen within the next 5 years tops.

Not strange... I don't think anyone is too pleased about the way the state is being run. Nothing worse than any other state but still.
