what is a good scan tool for my 2003 f 250 6.0 diesel truck

Depends. I bought an Innova scan tool from Amazon. Found it didn't do much if you had no codes set. Many just show "freeze frame" data. Sold it to a friend anmd bought a PC based Elmscan that came with some basic software that works pretty decent and was less than half the price of the handheld scanner. Top of th list is Auto Ingenuity PC based software with the optional Ford specific bundle.

the scangauge 2 is the best bang for your buck, doubles as gauges
