not idling when cold
i have a 97 f150 5.4 when i first start it and its cold it dies unless i hold the gas once i let it get to running temp it runs fine i hear maybe a little backfiring just kinda pops not to loud but i noticed it it has all new coils plugs air filter it has no cats at all does anyone know what this is it just started doing it

Lots of things it could be. Coils may not be all good or bad connections on some. You say, no cats, what about the front two O2 sensors ?
The back firing could be bad coils, fuel trim way off from no 02 sensors, or bad exhaust valves.
Need to have the codes read. Probably a few will show up by now.
