Lifted Our Excursion

Thanks to YellowSled for the great write up - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ims-tires.html

Before:
37 inches to the middle of the front wheel well, 39 in the rear.

The job took two of us 6.5 hours using two floor jacks, two 12 ton jackstands and an air impact.

Took the wheels off and removed the front shocks. To get the front springs off you have to remove the bumper.

ProComp 22210 spring. I used Bilstein 5100s for the shocks.

My 1 1/2 year old son helping us get the spring in place.

In the rear I used a tapered 2" block under the stock block. I have Bilsteins for the rear, but did not have the shock bar pin so I kept the stockers on for now.

After:
41 inches to the middle of the front wheel well, 41 in the rear. This is with worn out 265 BFGs.

New tires are going on this week. Either 295 or 315 BFG ATs, I haven't decide yet.

Nice!

Looks awesome!

If it were me I'd go with 305s, 295s are a hard tire size to find. 305s would fit well and are still available in load range "E". They also fit the stock rims well...

You should also look at replacing the stacked blocks in the rear with a single 4" tapered.

Safety for the little guy....

Looks great! Glad i can help. I agree with the block suggestions. I swapped out with one tapered block after the fact.

Thanks.

I looked at the 305s but I am concerned with the width and rubbing on the springs during a full turn.

Thanks. Once I get the new tires on I will figure out what size block I need.

Stacked blocks are a big no-no. I would strongly suggest getting full springs for the rear or at a bare minimum the 4" blocks. You've got a family to worry about.

Otherwise, the X looks great.

I would say I'm sorry for saying this, but I'm not. If you lived closer to me I would take an aluminum baseball bat
and knock you into Unconsious Land. While the image is adorable, accidents happen in a split second.

OK, got that off my mind! Truck looks good.... after you get larger tires mounted!

Thanks for the concern Sheriff. The picture is a bit deceiving by the angle it was taken. What you can't see are the two 12 ton jack stands holding the truck up along with the two floor jacks.
