odd engine clatter
I have a 2000 explorer, 4wd, xlt auto. its got 142000 miles, on 4.0 SOHC runs great, except its got this clatter tapping noise. Seems like its coming from the rear passenger side of the motor, crawlled under it and you can hear it in the exhaust pipe really good coming off the manifold. can anyone help me figure it out and is there an additive to ad to the oil to quiet it if its internal? When u idle up or drive it you cant hear it, always there at start up and idleing
