Sneaking over here from the 67-72 group since the 302s weren't that common in that year range...
I'd like to put headers on my 71 (302 / C4) and I'm wondering if I'll have a 'straight shot' out of the collectors afterwards?
I'd like to be able to just bolt up straight pipes with mufflers on the ends after the install...

Too many variables guy... Not enough information, and the frame configuration would be a question...
Just take it to the muffler shop after you get the headers on.
Maybe you will get lucky and someone here will have a 67-72 truck with a 302.
