Box tire stores always set pressure in trucks to what on door....which is rated for max load. You only need that if your loaded heavy!
The door says 51 front and 80 rear. But it says that for 235/85/R16 tires. Won’t be the same for 285/75/R16. I’ll probably just do the chalk test before I put too many miles on them. I’ve been looking through various forums to see what others have found to be the sweet spot, but there’s so many variables because of different weights on the axles and different tires of the same size. The tires I got are “E” load rating. I usually am not hauling weight. And I live in the mountains where there are wild temperature swings. So I could wind up chasing my tail. At least the tires have a 50k mile warranty for tread wear.

Just left chalk all over the super market parking lot. 60F, 80R was half right. Had to get all the way to 40 in the rear to get the chalk to be even. 55 in the front worked perfect. That’s unloaded with the 7.3IDI. 285/75/R16 BFG T/A K02

I am editing this post to say that I realize that tire inflation levels is not the point of this thread. Forgive me. I’m new and I’m excited about my truck.

1987 f250. 4x4 4 speed. Bullnose front end swap, arrowcraft dually rear conversion, cm flatbed, 09 Chevy front dually adapters, Chevy front dually wheels, 2.5 body lift, and all new LMC truck interior, and a rear add a leaf for more weight. Paint, front bumper and headache rack will be on this summer 😋

When I first got the truck.

If you are referencing my 460, no I do not have any videos. It's something I'm hoping to get this summer once everything is running better.

i would recommend another 5-10 psi in front to account for turning at speed. The shoulders will chew up fast under that weight

Not sure what the reason is, but when looking for an older truck lately I have not come across any of the brick nose trucks.

You know, in 1987 when Ford came out with this generation body style my thought was 'dang what have they done to their trucks'. At the time I owned a '78 F150 Ranger and the new ones were ugly to me. It didn't take long for the new style to grow on me. Bought an '89 Bronco, then my current vehicle (post #311 above). They are really great looking pickups and there are some great ones on here.
