Captian Lariat seats on a XL wire help

I searched the forum with out any success. Can anyone help ?

I just scored on a front bench from a 2000 Lariat for 150.00 and am trying to put it in my 2001 Supercab. I thought the Pigtail had 2 wires but the one on the Lariat seat has 3 ( Black, Green, then a smaller Brown with blue stripe )

Green = Positive ( I think )
Black = Ground ( I think )
Brown w/ blue stripe - I am lost.......

a little patience and some manners goes a long way newbie. Its within the realm of possibility that our resident electrical engineers were perhaps spending the weekend with thier families or some such thing.

Did you before speaking look into anything regarding my other posts also? Yes this was only one day. I agree, I also agree it was on a weekend. My other posts have been on be board for over 2 weeks still without a reply. I do not want to flame or make anyone mad. But I have had 2 replys to this thread already both negitive and all I was asking for was help go figure......

Out of the 3 threes I have started not one welcoming or anything. I guess I had higher hopes for this fourm like I receive on other boards.....

Oh and if you see my post history you will see one was actualy helping a fellow member of FTE NOT FLAMING ON THEM....

Okay settle down. Nobody is flaming anyone. Sorry you didn't get a response but it works that way on the weekend sometimes. The New Member thread is located at the top of this forum and you haven't posted there.....good place to be welcomed, if that's what you're looking for.

Welcome to FTE.

You did not say if power seat or not. or if u are converting manual seat to power seat.

Regardless, you are correct on the wires u know.For power seat, gr=12v+ Bl=12v- br/bl is the seat belt switch sensor. Without it, the truck will always have a seat belt light. If it was a manual to power seat swap, u prob only had one connector for that only.

Thanks for the reply. I used the original seatbelt so I didn't have the light on. The drivers seat I got didn't have a seatbelt on it. The other person kept it.

For my power I tapped into a 12 volt nonswitched sorce. And grounded to my seat screw.

I replaced the t55 with bolts. Thred is 12-1.75 40mm long. I didn't like the fact a standard t55 does not work and to have the correct one you need a t55 large/oversized.

Congrats on the new seat....I wish it was mine....

Also, hang around and spend some time here. This group is more than helpful but weekends are usually slower on post responses. They all work for a living too and usually spend the weekend catching up on chores or on hobbies like these trucks. I come on here as a way to unwind before going to bed. However, I originally came here with a problem the same as you. There are only a 3 or 4 folks that regularly answer specific electrical questions such as yours and they will usually provide schematics when they do respond. You get a lot more responses to other types of questions though usually.

This weekend is GA was a a rainy one fri and sat. I spent quite a bit of time on inside repairs/errands and then spent Sunday doing brakes, and egr valve on wife's truck. Forgot ot buy the stupid rotors though. Also, played catch with son and studied for Hazmat exam. None of that is important other than to say weekend is catch up time for most of us.

Welcome to the group and hope to see you around. Glad you got it working.
