I have a 99 F550 with a 6.8 Triton V10
I just picked up another engine last week
that has a knock in it but I just wanted it
for all the parts. I have never worked on
a V10 before. I took the heads off and on
only one head above the cam is a shaft with
two weights on it with a gear on one end
that runs off the cam. Can anybody tell me
what it is and anything about it? Because I need
to take it off to get the head bolts out but
im shure it has to be in time with the cam.
So what do I do?
Well everyone I found out what the shaft is. It is a counter ballance shaft.
Thanks for everyones help on this. Looks like this forum is totaly usless!!
This will be the last time I turn to this page for any help!
