Perky put a 10 spd under his truck no problem... so there has something to it, and what would be a good donor truck??

The clutch configuration may be the hardest to figure out.You will need a clutch with a brake or it will be hell to get into gear as the trans has no syncronizers except in the rear section
Also don't forget about adding a cross member to hold it up.
The over drive in the 10 and 13 speeds is .8 to 1
The 8LL is a bit longer and heavier and have .73 or .74 to 1 depending if it is RTO or RTX
You can take an RTO main box and put an overdrive rear section behind it and get .62 to 1
This is for a 9 series trans and are a little lighter and less expensive than the newer transmissions and a 1 7/8" input shaft is available

The 6 series trans is some lighter and smaller but think the OD is less

The 6 series is good for around 600 lbs of torque and the 9 series good for 900 to 1000 lbs of torque

I know it will need a clutch brake, if its a unsnychroed tranny (Drove a Freightliner FLD) but find a Eaton thats syncrhonized.

why dont you just put a 6 speed in it from like a fld 60 or 70.
easy to shift and its about the right size to fit that powerstroke.
They dont have much for a clutch brake either and the powerstroke wont make a lot of power anyways unless you spend a ton more money on it for a p-pump set up.

I think the clutch brake works differently when you step the input shaft down.

I just took a 13 speed off a 3208, and it had a push throwout bearing instead of the pull that you see on most clutches with the 2" shaft.

The brake must be there somewhere.

If I remember Ill take a look at it tomorrow, but Im guessing its built into the pressure plate somehow.

Some of the 6613s had a counter shaft brake
This is an air-operated mechanical brake which
slows down the transmission gearing by forcing
a piston against the transmission’s PTO gear.

Yep thats whats its got.. There's an extra momentary air valve on the stick, I was wondering what it was for. That makes sense.. Its plumbed into the 6 hole pto plate.

Good call.

Roadranger to 7.3

Doing the same thing. I've got a 92 F350. The trans I'm using is an Eaton RT910 bit I'm taking it apart to make it an OD. I'm also using a single axle Freightliner FLD chassis with full air brakes. Some of the parts you will need is a engine bell SAE No.2, bigger flywheel with matching starter, and a clutch pedal assembly from an F800 along with a custom driveshaft as the Eaton yoke is way bigger. The F800 pedal assembly is a lot stronger because the clutch is bigger and a pull type vs the stock push type in the 150-550. International 4900s are great for donor parts needed. I'm adding a belt drive air compressor to my engine. My cab will be a four door stretch and using the full tilt 84 fiberglass F800 hood.

"Lift kit"

As I said, my cab is setting on a single axle FLD frame. I have about 1" between the aluminum tanks and the bottom of the cab. From the roof to ground is just under 9'. I've made a flat floor. No need for a tunnel. I've got this project on hold right now till I get the extra property plus got family to take care of right now. Right now I got to get my wrecked Ranger done and get the 49 Packard going, but gathering up the rest of my F800 parts soon.

10 speed

[QUOTE=TheTowingCowboy;9932319]I was wondering if it would even be remotely possible to put a eaton 10 speed (Maybe even a 13) Behind a 7.3 PSD?
I believe an RT1066 is what you are looking for. Want to do the same with mine.
