Puked

Hi there, so I bought a 75 dentside about 5 months ago and the PO was not a mechanic to say the least, anyway at one time a new (and incorrect) fuel tank as installed, I replaced the filler hose a couple of weeks ago but the problem is still ther, I have a hard time fueling it, you have to go VERY slow and it takes about 20 minutes of clicking, the tank that was installed has the vent hose on the wrong side and has no provision for the carbon canister hose on the top of the tank, anyway the problem that is really getting me is I let it sit all day the other day and when I came back I found it puking fuel out of the filler hole through the cab, why would this be??? Very Confused

If it is not a correct tank for the application why not bite the bullet and get the correct tank along with correct hardware and install it. You possibly have a tank with a 'roll over' valve in it. If venting is not correct or the filler hose is not correct you will have problems. I do believe new aftermarket is available for your application. Might want to look in a salvage yard or at least another similar truck to see the correct installation.
Much luck.
