Code p0305?

2006 Ford F250 (5.4L) 8 cyl 3V (115,000 miles)

Here is my issue.

I week ago I had all my plugs changed and my # 6 coil needed to be replaced at the automotive shop. When I picked up my truck I had the same rough idle.

They switch the coil #6 to #5 and the automotive shop said it was getting the same code back for #6 (p0316, p0306, p0300, p0714) and everything is running fine on #5 with the coil.

Now a week later I have the code p0305 (#5 misfire) and the same #6 code coming back. Now I have both #6 and #5 reading codes.

They look at it today and said that the coil are reading fine but it could be that I have a bad fuel injectors that is causing this reading. I don't know what to think. Looking at my engine one of the fuel injector is between #5 and #6 can this be the bad fuel injector? Is it easy to replace?

Now I'm thinking that I didn't need to replace my plugs it could had been a bad fuel injector from the start.

Help

Did your truck get tuned up at 100k miles?

If so, what brand of spark plugs were used?

Yes, my truck got a tune up. I believe my local automotive shop replace the spark plugs with the same brand. I know that they got the coil from NAPA. They did not use OEM part for the coil. Would that make a difference.

1. Could a bad fuel injector cause a coil too go bad?
2. Could a bad coil make a fuel injector go bad?

Just checking.

So I was checking on my fuel injectors and I see each cyl has one. My question is, if I'm getting a misfire on #5 and #6 can it be those fuel injectors that are going bad? Or can it be another fuel injector?

Do I need a special tool to remove the injectors?

Any help will do. Money is tight and I now I'm losing trust on mechanics.

My bill for changing all spark plug, one coil and reading diagnose codes
$900.00 bucks. Does it really take 4 hours to remove plugs?

since you have the year truck that the plugs break about 4 hours to do plugs is normal.
If that was the first time they were changed. After that if they went with the one piece plug shouldn't be longer then 2 hours max.

the fuel injectors are easy to remove you need to bleed the fuel pressure and then remove the rail and carefully remove the injector's i recommend swapping them with
another cylinder and seeing what happens.

How do I bleed the fuel pressure?

Should I start with the #6 and #5 fuel injectors first? Again I'm getting the codes off of them.

Can #1 fuel injector give a code on number #5 or #6 or any other injectors. I do not want to pull out the wrong injector.

Do I need a special tool to remove the fuel injectors or do I pull them out?

How should I clean the injectors if they do not have to be replace?

Going to work on the truck this weekend. Money is a little tight from the work done last week at the automotive shop.

The truck is still running rough and I just wanted to get some input from my last post.

Could anyone help.

Thanks

bleed fuel pressure by pulling the fuel pump fuse and start the engine 2 times.
i would swap the #5 and 6 injectors to to number 7 and 8.

The number 1 injector will not cause a code on the number 5 and 6 cylinders.
there are no special tools needed. I do recommend you lube the o rings on the injectors and before you start turn the key to the run position to check for leaks before starting.
also clear the codes.

If you get a code now for #7 and 8 then you know your injectors are bad if the same code comes back for 5 and 6 then you need to do more testing.

You can't really clean the injectors unless you send them to be cleaned. But that takes about a week.

also this is the cylinder layout.
