4R70W... BASIC5? BASIC6?
I have a 1995 f150, with a 5.0L (302), and a 4R70W trans... Not to long ago the trans went out, I found a trans in a junk yard (4R70W?) The problem is I did not pull it from the vehicle, I have a warranty if its not right, but I don't know what it came out of... Everything will bolt up, I checked. However on the tail piece below the RF numbers and to the right of the FORD logo, the new one (...and I say new, because it's stamped '96) says BASIC6, but my old one says BASIC5!! What's the difference? I can post numbers if it will help, just let me know what numbers/ and location to post...
