ICP code warm start question
My 03 with 197k is always showing the low pressure icp code. Looked in the tech folder and I will do what's needed. My inquisitive question is why will the truck not start all the time or give a lazy start when hot, but when cold starts as crisp as ever? I know there has to be some technical reason, but I don't have the depth of knowledge for this one.

Engine oil is much thicker when the engine is cold. If there is a high pressure oil system leak somewhere, the engine oil is thick enough to overcome the leak source to build up the needed/desired injector control pressure to fire the injectors when it's cold. When the engine reaches operating temperature, the oil thins out. Thin oil leaks out faster than thick oil, hence the easier engine starting once the engine is cold.
