bolt pattern question
so heres the deal i got a 99 f250 and a cousin of mine wants to sell me the wheels and tires off of his 2011 f250 and i want to know if the 8 lug bolt pattern is the same so i can know if they will fit.

As long as you're dealing with your cousin, couldn't you arrange a meeting where you try on the new wheels on your truck? That's the only way to be sure. Make sure you try it on the front and with the truck off the jack. I'm pretty sure my factory rims are 17". I'll check in the daylight and correct this post if needed tomorrow.

From everything I have read and seen you can put the 05 & newer wheels on your vehicle they will just stick out a little further (not much & actually looks better) than the ones you currently have as they have a negative offset...the larger diameter wheel will only give you more room between the calipers and rotors and will not be a hinderence. They problem comes when trying to put a pre 05 wheel on a 99-04.

They will fit, but the backspacing is different, so they will sit IN further on the truck and make it look funny.

That is my understanding as well. Identical bolt pattern, but more backspacing on later models. If you don't haul or tow heavy loads and understand and accept the risks, can use spacers to move them back out.

The 05 and newer have a deeper backspacing which does mean they set INWARD more. This is because in 05 they went to coilspring front suspension allowing the deeper placement. What this did is allow for a shorter turning radious(like dodges). Spacers are available, 1inch required to match original placement. Without spacers the tires will hit the leaf springs when turning.
