I guess if you ask for some 7.62 rounds you might get some funny looks.
7.62x51mm .308
7.62x59mm .30'06
7.62x54mm Russian
7.62x39 Soviet (AK-47)
7.57x57mm 7mm Mauser
7.92x57mm 8mm Mauser
They make more sense to me in metric than they do in .30 cal. designations.

I'm glad you have it figured out cause it's pretty much french to me. Although I have shot very little and don't think I have ever bought anything more than some 22 shells.
I fish a fair bit in the summer and fall. Mostly in the river. We have two rivers running through town. One I could probably hit with a rock from my back yard. I usually start sometime in June once the water level comes down and I can wade out a bit, then I will quit once it gets too cold to stand in. Normally that would be late Sept/Oct. Mostly smaller whitefish and rainbows.
I used to ice fish as well but haven't done that in years. I think it has something to do with sitting on a frozen lake in freezing temps. We have some lakes in the area that are pretty popular spots.
I never liked ice fishing, something about standing on 1 1/2" of ice on top of 300ft of water, that puts me off.
I mostly fish the high lakes for Rainbow, Kokanee, browns and Mackinaw, by boat, and hike ins for brookies and cutthroats during the summer.
Steelhead and salmon in the fall.
McKenzie river is about 1/2 mile from here, good rainbow during the summer, steelhead, salmon in the river most times too........WAY too high right now to fish.
Our river gets too frozen this time of year. Once the frost comes it's too high normally till sometime mid to late June. Mostly depends on how much snow we got in the mountains. We take our 5th wheel out to a place about 30 mins from town. The campsite is on the river. In the river is a rock that will stick out above the water probably 6-7 feet. In the spring the rock is totally under water. The water is moving pretty fast with lots of crap floating down river.
Sounds real interesting, must be a good salmon/steelhead run on that river?
We have huge flood control dams up in the mtns. upstream backing up 350/450ft deep lakes, so the river falls back to fishable conditions even in winter.
