Wouldn't 2 6 1/2 speakers be plenty in a reg cab truck? I plan to go this route, because I think that will be enough for me(and I love to listen to my music loud). For some reason one of the previous owners decided not to use 6-1/2 door speakers, but to put little bitty speakers(like 5-1/4 or smaller) in little boxes behind the seat. I guess they thought it was more cool to have speakers behind the seat instead of having good sound.

I have one of those giant speaker spots in my dash I think it would be cool to put a little 8in sub or something in there, but I have heard it is a major pain to put speakers in that spot even though they did it from the factory.

I would like to add speakers in back *in addition to* those in the doors but
haven't spent the time on it yet.

I saw in a JY one time a relatively new (late 90s) F150 and noticed Ford had put
factory speakers behind the trim of the B pillars (of course, with a built-in grille
so you can hear 'em) I'm gonna say someplace around shoulder height.

My truck is loud enough that extra speakers might be appreciated.

Yeah I once had a straight pipe on an AMC 360 powered Jeep, and I couldn't hear my music at all at full blast with the stock radio and speakers.

bazoka makes a powered sub that will fit behind your seat with all you stuff if not pioneer make a powered sub that fits under the seat..these speakers offer great sound in tight spaces

I knew about the Bazooka Tubes, but I didn't know Pioneer made a sub that goes under the seat. Under the seat would be best I think.

yeah i haven't heard one but i was thinking about getting it until a 12' jbl fell into my lap. the powered subs work great i have the infinity bass link in my expedition and its nice..infinity also makes a setup to fit behind the seat with 3 speakers that are powered but small..i do remember seeing a pick up with 6.5 in the door an 3inch in the dash and it sounded awesome i hope that this helps...
