over heating problem
just got a 78 f150 with an inline 6 and i have been haveing a bit of over heating problems. was wondering if you straight 6 guys in here could fill me in on a little about these motors. at first i thought it was just a bad thermostat so i changed the thermostat and housing and put in 195 degree stat. well i was running the truck after i was done filling it up and all the coolant started overflowing out the overflow but it was still ice cold and so was the radiator. so i plugged the line for a minute and then the radiator instantly became blazing hot and the coolant that was coming out then turned to steam. can anyone give me any advice as to what my problem is.
