I managed to unbolt my transfer case, unbolt the rear driveshaft and slide the case back enough to get the nozzle of some ultra black rtv in this afternoon. Hopefully I was thorough enough that it takes care of the leak.

2003 Ford Exploder! 4.0 Fuel Pump Pressure

The pump on these is a duty cycle pump. My test kit has a line for some of the older Tempo/Topaz models that goes in-line between the filter and the rest of the fuel line that would probably work.
Bill I really appreciate you looking these test proceedures up for me. I took the time today to disconnect the fuel filter and a bunch of hoses and several wiring hornasses and straps and a lot of grunting. I got the tank out and pulled the pum assembly out. I took the pu to my work bench and clipped the two wires going to the pump motor to be sure it was not working and sure enough it did nothing. I called the parts store and ordered the pump and filter and they will be here in the AM. Both parts come to $235 and I will be happy to get this truck finally runnung and see how much I am in it. I'll keep you informed. Again Thanks Bill!

I meant to get a picture, and even had a clever question for it, but I forgot. I finally got my truck back on the road today, with what appears to be a leak free transfer case/transmission. I drove it over to my parents' house, and was going to take a picture to post up here and ask "what is the significance of this photo". Oh well. In the drive, I was reminded how many other things need attention, but I am just happy to have it back on the road.

Congratulations Josiah!

Bruno,
I think you need to be a member to attach photos directly.

JBG sells the Saginaw conversion bracket for Windsors.

My new pump is very similar, but the bracket that bolts to the water pump is a simple offset plate. Not that long armed thing.

I have been on a job that requires a 1 hour commute. I have a 99 F250 SD V10 My passenger side header had a leak which was causing me some awful economy. Sunday I changed the header, Monday I repaired the E brake, including new backing plates. I also had to free up the ebrake lever wich required removing the computer PIA. Once the lever was free I packed it with bearing greese, that will never happen again. The next day I replaced a fuel tank strap. After replacing it I noticed a fuel leak. I removed a few boards from the flat bed and replaced the clamp on the inlet tube (it was rusted out broken). While the gas tank was exposed I replaced the vapor line. My truck is running so better.

Over Spring break I took the box off of my pickup, sanded down the underbelly, put undercoating on, rewired the rear lights, installed corrugated plastic over the wiring and then put the box back on. I have pictures of everything I did in my garage. Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - George Fletcher's Album: Garage - My Pickup While I was rewiring I was trying to figure out why my backup lights don't work and then flicker other times, but I then found that its not the wires going through the box its the ones that hook to the transmission. They hang down and I'm not sure if they are just bad or if I need to buy the plastic piece that is behind the shift linkage? Any suggestion backup lights are very handy and I'd like to brag to my cousin about how my 80 is better than his 79, and backup lights would be one of the things that would make it better.
Tomorrow we don't have school and I decided I'm going to adjust my carb, it thinks it needs to flood every time I want to spin out and it never used to do that, I assume the floats are needing to be adjusted but im not sure.

Friday I worked on the Exploder and replaced the fuel pump and put it all back together with a new fuel filter as well. It s now running! Not very well but it got me to the gas station and back. It now has a code coming up with a lean condition bank 1. I have looked and sprayed starter fluid around and I don't get an indication. Would a oxygen sensor give this indication? Just curious as it was one of the parts that was taken off the truck when I found it along with a lot of other things that had been removed.
